Three Induction Cookware Sets For Daily Use

induction cooktop with stainless steel pots

If you are in the market for induction friendly cookware, these three stainless-steel sets are all solid options. They are also compatible with conventional stoves and are dishwasher and oven safe.

The Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 11-Piece Cookware Set is a really nice set of cookware.  The base of the cooking vessels is composed of five layers of materials that ensure even heat distribution and induction compatibility.  I have used the 8.5-inch and 10-inch skillets on my electric stove and have been very pleased.  The handles are comfortable and well-attached. One of the nicest features of this set is that the rivets are flush with the pan surface.  This makes cleaning the pan much easier. The only piece that does not have a lid is the 8.5-inch skillet.

The Cuisinart Multi-Clad Pro Stainless Steel 12-pc Cookware Set is a solid value.  It is constructed with an aluminum core sandwiched between layers of stainless steel. The handles are well-designed and do not get hot even at higher temperatures. I have the 12-inch skillet and it is a bit on the heavy side. However, the handle is really very nice and heat is distributed evenly. The rivets are harder to clean than the flush rivets on the Anolon Nouvelle Copper set reviewed in this article.

The Duxtop Whole-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 10-pc Cookware Set includes everything you need to prepare delicious meals.  It is constructed with three layers; two magnetic stainless steel with thick aluminum core in between.  Secura (manufacturer of Duxtop and Secura brands) states on its website that Whole-Clad is a bonding technology.  They assert this technology extends this product’s lifetime dramatically compared to cookware that has encapsulated base construction.  As with the previously discussed Cuisinart collection, a lid for the skillet is not included.

It is worth noting that it will take a little bit of practice to master cooking with uncoated stainless steel if you have only prepared food with non-stick pots and pans. It is important to pre-heat the pan, check to make sure the pan is at the right temperature, add fat, ensure the fat covers the pan and then add your food.
