Disadvantages

One criticism of this set is that some of the pieces warped with only minimal use.  My main criticism is that Cuisinart is unwilling to state the chromium and nickel composition of the interior of these pots and pans.  I wrote Cuisinart customer service requesting clarification on the grade of stainless steel used in the Cuisinart MultiClad Pro Stainless Steel Cookware Set. They stated the interior was 202 Stainless and the  exterior was 18/0. The range of chromium in 202 Stainless is 16-18% while the range of nickel is 2-5%.

Summary

The triple-ply multiclad construction gives you three layers. These include two stainless steel layers with an aluminum core. The core gives excellent heat retention and heat distribution, while the overall quality far exceeds the price. When opting for the Cuisinart MCP12N 12-piece set, you can rest assured that it will give you many years of good service.

Steel lids are supplied with this 12-piece set. This is preferable to glass as there is no chance of breakage should they be dropped, and they can also withstand much higher temperatures. This is especially true when taking into considering that this cookware set can be used in the oven at temperatures of up to 500°F. Care needs to be taken not to overfill the cookware in this set as each lid slides into place, taking up a slight amount of space at the rim of the pot.

One of the best features of this outstanding induction-ready cookware set are the long, cool grip handles made from solid stainless steel. They stay cool to the touch throughout the highest temperatures and the longest cooking periods. They are also intelligently positioned to never pose an obstruction while cooking, while also being long enough to avoid the direct heat of gas or electric cooktops.

The pots and pans are so attractive that they can be placed on the table and served out of directly.  The appealing shine of the stainless steel will hold its luster through many cycles in the dishwasher, although some prefer to hand wash their set. This cookware is also very easy to clean thanks to the highly polished interior.  Even though the stainless steel steamer insert does not fit all of the pots, it does come in handy.

Cuisinart’s patented Heat Surround™ Technology ensures steady, even distribution throughout the entire cookware set. This design allows for the heat to spread evenly across the bottom and sides of every pot and pan. The cooking surface is highly resistant to corrosion, water spots and other damage. It takes little cleaning to keep them looking good, while stains and scuffs are easily removed using a light porous cleaner.

Comparison

Unlike many other multiclad stainless steel cookware sets,  a triple layered design is used on the entire pot. Most competing cookware only have a tri-clad bottom, while the MCP12N extends this design throughout the entire composition of the pot. This grants better heat distribution and a greater lifespan to your cookware.
